An offline driving recorder for iPhone and iPad. One tap starts continuous loop recording with a burned-in timestamp, and every recording stays on your device. No account, no cloud, no upload - because there is no server to upload to.
What it does
- One-tap recording. Open the app, hit record, drive.
- Loop recording. Each drive is saved as its own file and loops automatically, so a long trip never runs you out of space.
- Tamper-evident timestamp. The date and time are burned into the video itself, not just drawn on screen. Tap it to switch between ISO, US, European, and Asian date formats.
- Keeps recording through music and calls. Start a playlist or take a hands-free call and DashCam keeps rolling.
- Locked far focus. The camera stays sharp on the road ahead instead of hunting for focus on your dashboard.
- Battery-saver screen dim. Dims the display while recording and restores your brightness when you stop.
- Built-in gallery. Play, share, save a clip to Photos, or swipe to delete.
- Smart storage. DashCam watches your free space, warns you when it runs low, and can recycle the oldest drives so recording does not stop mid-trip.
Your footage stays on your phone
Every recording is written to your device's local storage and never leaves it unless you choose to share or export it yourself. There is no account to create, no sync, no backup service, and no analytics. We never see your recordings, your location, or how you use the app. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
DashCam Pro
Every feature listed above stays free. DashCam Pro is an optional auto-renewing subscription for drivers who want to support the app's development. Two plans are offered:

Prices are in US dollars and may differ in your local App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and can be managed or cancelled at any time in your Apple Account settings. Requirements
- iPhone or iPad running iOS 16 or later.
- Access to the camera (the road) and, optionally, the microphone (in-car audio).
- Free storage space for your recordings. Video is large - a long drive at high quality can use several gigabytes.
Mount your device securely and set up DashCam before you start driving. Do not operate your phone while the vehicle is moving. Dash cam use and in-car audio recording are regulated differently from country to country - it is your responsibility to check what is permitted where you drive.
